Upon leaving her four year stint portraying Mary Magdeline in the rock opera “Jesus Christ Superstar” The gifted Yvonne Elliman wanted an image as far from saint hood and Catholicism as she could, but more importantly, an image of her own, and there was more rock in her than anybody knew. THUS, the album “Food of Love” came about. This is BY FAR one of her BEST and unfortunately, MOST OUT OF PRINT albums, so I hope you enjoy my generosity is painstakingly putting it on for you! This song in particular, the album opener, is about getting high, and becoming gluttonous. The lyrics are outrageous and the tune is folksy blues. And MAN can she sing the hell out of it! Elliman is right at home here, and you will be too when you listen! Enjoy! LYRICS Pineapple Time Teeth of Bread and Honey, Licking my lips on a mozel pan, honey, Rolling my eyes at the sugar surprise, I can’t seem to stuff my body enough. Lemons and Limes, Wine rolling over Cup in my hands, so pur me another, Sucking my hair for the weed over there, I Can’t seem to stuff my body enough! Wait till I scream! Gimme, gimme Ice Cream, Gimme a peel, of your cool jelly heel Show me your wife And I’ll cut you a slice, Coz I’m into a PIE you can’t FIND IN THE SKY! Casserole me over! I can eat all you give! Casserole me over! I can’t seem to stuff my body enough! So lean a divine, and a japenese lime. Filling my face with oriental grace. If your food is a drag, you’re not into my bag, coz I’m making my day with this lemon ……
